Roofline is a free set of visual calculators for roof area, pitch and material quantities. It helps homeowners and project planners understand the geometry behind an estimate before discussing an order with a supplier or contractor.

How the estimates work

Enter the horizontal footprint, overhang and roof pitch. Roofline uses the pitch multiplier to convert horizontal area into sloped surface area. You can combine roof sections and add an adjustable waste allowance. Material counts depend on the coverage values you enter.

Each calculator includes its formulas and assumptions. Measurements stay in your browser while you move between the calculators. You can print an estimate for your project.

Know the limits

These tools provide planning estimates, not a survey, engineering assessment or quotation. Complex intersections, dormers, valleys, roof condition and local installation requirements can change the quantities needed. Verify dimensions and product coverage with a qualified professional before ordering or starting work.
