Reporting a calculation error
If a result looks wrong, tell us which calculator you used and the inputs for the section: roof shape, length, width, overhang, pitch, waste percentage and package coverage. Say what you expected and why. With those values we can reproduce the result exactly, because the calculators have no hidden inputs.
Corrections to guides
If a guide states something that is out of date or wrong, send the page address, the sentence and, if you have one, a source. We correct errors on the page and change its “Last updated” date. Larger changes are listed on the About page.
What we cannot help with
We cannot measure your roof, review a contractor’s quote, recommend a contractor or product, or say what your local building code requires. For code questions, ask your local building department. For a quotation, ask a licensed roofer in your area; the quote checklist shows what to prepare.
